On participating in swaps

Have you ever participated in a scrapbook layout swap? They are so much fun to do, especially if you are swapping with a talented group of ladies! I swap with a talented group of Close To My Heart consultants, and the stuff I get back in return is usually top-notch and beautiful with a capital 'B'!

What is a swap you ask? The basic idea is that a group of people will sign up to partipate in a swap with a particular theme. I have done Christmas swaps, little girl swaps, sports swaps, monochromatic swaps, and so many more. Each lady creates a two-page layout for each member of the swap including herself. Then we all mail those pages to the hostess along with postage for it to come to us. Once all the pages have been received, the hostess "swaps out" the pages and sends back one of each layout to each participant.

When you get the swap pages back, you now have a variety of pages ready to go that just need pictures and journaling to be complete! I bring these pages along with the pictures I have chosen to go with them when I go to a crop. In December I completed 12 calendar pages for my husband's Christmas gift plus 20 something two-page layouts. Now that is what I call power-scrapping!

Let me know about your experiences with swapping.
